Illustrative Scenario: A CSR Programme Across 10 Schools

The Challenge

Picture a manufacturing company whose CSR programme has funded computer labs, textbooks and teacher salaries in 10 government-aided schools across Maharashtra and Gujarat. Its impact reports rely on attendance figures, books distributed and photos from school visits — enough for compliance, but they don't answer the board's real question: are students learning more?

The schools follow two different boards and range from 60 to 200 students each, so whatever the programme does has to work consistently across all of them.

💡

How the Rollout Could Work

The programme funds Super Tutor access for Classes 8–10 in all 10 schools, plus shared tablets where needed and a programme coordinator. Each school is set up with course access for its own board, and students join with a partner code.

The programme runs its own baseline assessment at the start and repeats it at fixed points in the year; the evidence the CSR committee needs comes from those tests, not from app usage alone. Between assessments, the coordinator uses the partner dashboard to see which students are active, which subjects they study and how quiz scores are moving, and visits the schools where activity drops.

What to Measure

Active students

How many enrolled students study each week, from the activity grid in the partner dashboard.

Quiz score trend

Each student's quiz scores over time, from their student report.

Subject coverage

Which subjects students open, from subject analytics.

Baseline vs follow-up tests

The programme's own assessments, run at the start and at fixed points in the year — the evidence funders ask for.

Things to Plan For

1

Decide how you'll measure learning before launch — a baseline test the programme controls is what funders look for.

2

Budget for a coordinator; someone on the ground matters most when a school's activity drops.

3

Plan devices and connectivity school by school, as needs vary with student numbers.

4

Set up each school with its own board's courses so students see the syllabus they're taught.
