ICSE Class 10 English Weightage — Language and Literature Marks Explained
ICSE Class 10 English marks explained: two 80-mark papers (Language and Literature) plus internal assessment, and how the Language paper is split.
ICSE Class 10 English is two subjects' worth of work: an 80-mark English Language paper and an 80-mark Literature in English paper, each with 20 marks of internal assessment. Knowing how the Language paper is split tells you where your practice time pays off most for the 2027 ICSE exam.
English Language (Paper 1): Section Marks

Literature in English (Paper 2)
The Literature paper (80 marks + 20 internal assessment) tests the prescribed drama, prose and poetry. CISCE does not assign fixed marks to individual chapters, so every prescribed text matters. Practise extract-based questions and longer answers on character, theme and context.
