How ICSE Results Work

  • Pass mark: 33% in each subject. To qualify, you must pass at least five subjects including English, and get a pass grade in SUPW and Community Service.
  • Grades: the result shows a grade from 1 (highest) to 9 for each subject: 1–2 “very good”, 3–5 pass with credit, 6–7 pass, and 8–9 fail.
  • Result terms: CISCE now shows “Qualified” or “Not Qualified”.
  • Percentage: CISCE shows marks and grades per subject. Schools and colleges that ask for a percentage often use English plus your best four other subjects, so check the rule the institution you are applying to uses.

Recheck, Re-evaluation and Improvement

  • Recheck: the first step if you think a paper was totalled or marked wrongly. 2026 recheck results came out on 29 May.
  • Re-evaluation: only for papers you had rechecked and are still unhappy with. The 2026 window ran from 30 May to 1 June, and results were declared on 14 June.
  • Improvement Examination: held in the same year for students who want better marks or who did not qualify. Under CISCE's rules for 2027 you can take up to two subjects, and the higher of your two marks counts.

What to Do Next

  • Save your result as a PDF and from DigiLocker; you will need it for Class 11 admission.
  • Choose your stream based on your interests and your marks in the related subjects; see our guide to what to do after the 10th result.
  • If the result disappointed you, look at the improvement exam; one exam does not decide your future.
