This guide is for students taking the Karnataka SSLC board exams in 2027 (session 2026-27). It covers when the exams usually run, a month-by-month plan, where to practise each subject and the mistakes that cost marks.
When Are the 2027 Exams?
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has not announced the 2027 timetable yet; the 2026 SSLC Exam-1 ran from 18 March to 2 April. Expect a similar March–April window, and check kseab.karnataka.gov.in for the official date sheet.
KSEAB also holds a second SSLC exam (Exam-2) later in the spring for students who want to clear or improve subjects; in 2026 it began on 18 May.

Start freeCommon Mistakes to Avoid
- Starting too late — last-minute cramming doesn't work for board exams.
- Skipping the textbook — board papers are written from the Karnataka state textbooks. Guides and question banks are extras, not replacements.
- Not solving papers — reading is not enough; practise writing answers against the clock.
- Ignoring weak subjects — every subject counts, and one weak paper can pull your overall result down.
- Not revising — without regular revision you forget much of what you studied within weeks. Go over each chapter several times before the exam.

How many months do I need to prepare for the Karnataka SSLC board exams?
Four to six months of focused preparation is ideal. If you have studied steadily through the year, two to three months of revision and practice papers is usually enough. Start with your weakest subjects.
What is a good daily timetable for Karnataka SSLC preparation?
Plan 6–8 hours of study a day including school. Give more time to the subjects you find hardest, spend 30 minutes each morning revising formulas or key points, and solve at least one past paper a week.
How do I score 90% or more in the Karnataka SSLC exams?
Three things: (1) work through every exercise and example in the Karnataka state textbooks; (2) solve the last few years' papers under timed conditions; (3) revise each subject at least three times before the exam. Steady work beats cramming.
