How to prepare for the MP Board Class 12 exams in 2027: when they usually run, a month-by-month plan, subject links and the mistakes that cost marks.

This guide is for students taking the MP Board Class 12 board exams in 2027 (session 2026-27). It covers when the exams usually run, a month-by-month plan, where to practise each subject and the mistakes that cost marks.

When Are the 2027 Exams?

The Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh (MPBSE) has not announced the 2027 timetable yet; the 2026 Class 12 exams ran from 10 February to 7 March. Expect a similar February–March window, and check mpbse.nic.in for the official date sheet.

MPBSE holds a second examination later in the year for students who need to clear or improve subjects; check its notices for who can apply.

Month-by-Month Study Plan

3–4 Months Before the Exam

  • Finish the syllabus in every subject
  • Make short notes for each chapter: key points, formulas, diagrams
  • Work through every exercise in your prescribed textbooks (the NCERT books for Maths and Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology)

2 Months Before the Exam

  • Start past papers: one a week per subject
  • Find your weak chapters and revise them first
  • Start daily formula and key-point revision

Last Month

  • Solve one full paper a day under timed conditions
  • Revise only; don't start new topics
  • Practise writing answers within the word limits

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Starting too late — last-minute cramming doesn't work for board exams.
  • Skipping the textbook — board papers are written from your prescribed textbooks (the NCERT books for Maths and Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology). Guides and question banks are extras, not replacements.
  • Not solving papers — reading is not enough; practise writing answers against the clock.
  • Ignoring weak subjects — every subject counts, and one weak paper can pull your overall result down.
  • Not revising — without regular revision you forget much of what you studied within weeks. Go over each chapter several times before the exam.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many months do I need to prepare for the MP Board Class 12 board exams?

Four to six months of focused preparation is ideal. If you have studied steadily through the year, two to three months of revision and practice papers is usually enough. Start with your weakest subjects.

Plan 6–8 hours of study a day including school. Give more time to the subjects you find hardest, spend 30 minutes each morning revising formulas or key points, and solve at least one past paper a week.

Three things: (1) work through every exercise and example in your prescribed textbooks (the NCERT books for Maths and Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology); (2) solve the last few years' papers under timed conditions; (3) revise each subject at least three times before the exam. Steady work beats cramming.
