TANCET is Tamil Nadu's entrance test for MBA and MCA admissions. Conducted by Anna University, it was held on 9 May in 2026 after March dates in earlier years. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. admission is no longer through TANCET — it moved to Anna University's separate CEETA-PG. The TANCET 2027 schedule is not out yet, so this page shows each step with its 2026 date as a guide.

Key Deadlines to Never Miss
- Registration deadline: In 2026 the window was 16 March–10 April. Don't count on an extension — apply early once the 2027 brochure is out.
- Paper selection: Choose MBA, MCA or both when you register.
- Admission applications: A TANCET score doesn't get you a seat by itself. Apply to Tamil Nadu MBA/MCA Admissions and to any colleges you want after the result, and track each deadline.

When is the TANCET 2027 exam date?

What programmes does TANCET 2027 cover?
TANCET now covers two programmes, MBA and MCA, each with its own 100-question, 2-hour paper. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. admission moved to a separate Anna University test, CEETA-PG. In 2026 the MCA and MBA papers were in separate sessions on the same day, so you could take both.
When will TANCET 2027 registration open?
The 2027 dates aren't announced. For TANCET 2026, online registration ran from 16 March to 10 April 2026 on tancet.annauniv.edu, and the fee was ₹1,000 per paper (₹500 for SC/SCA/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu). Apply early and keep your degree and community documents scanned and ready.
Is there negative marking in TANCET 2027?
Yes. In TANCET 2026 each MBA and MCA question carried 1 mark with a 1/4-mark deduction for a wrong answer; unanswered questions carry no penalty, and shading more than one option counts as wrong. Confirm the scheme in the 2027 brochure, and attempt selectively where you are unsure.
How does TANCET 2027 counselling work?
TANCET only gives you a score; you then apply for admission separately. MBA and MCA admissions through TANCET are run by Tamil Nadu MBA/MCA Admissions at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore (tn-mbamca.com), and some institutions announce their own admissions — watch for their advertisements after the result. The final scorecard shows your percentile score.
Who is eligible for TANCET 2027?
Going by the 2026 brochure: for MBA, a recognised bachelor's degree of at least 3 years with 50% marks (45% for BC, BCM, MBC, SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu). For MCA, a 3-year degree in BCA or B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science), or any 3-year degree with Mathematics at Class 12 or degree level, with the same 50% (45%) marks. Final-year students can apply. Check the 2027 brochure for any change.
