Frequently Asked Questions
How is the TS EAMCET (TG EAPCET) rank calculated?
Ranks are based on your normalised TS EAMCET score out of 160, weighted 75% with 25% from your Intermediate (Class 11–12) marks in the relevant subjects. Because the exam runs in multiple shifts, JNTUH normalises raw scores for shift difficulty before ranking. This predictor estimates rank from your EAMCET marks — your final rank also depends on your Intermediate percentage.
What are the qualifying marks for TS EAMCET?
You need 40 out of 160 (25%) to qualify in the General, OBC, and BC categories. There is no minimum qualifying mark for SC and ST candidates. There is no negative marking, so attempt every question.
What rank can I get with 100 marks in TS EAMCET Engineering?
Around 100 marks (Engineering) typically maps to a rank in the 6,000–10,000 range on EAMCET marks alone, before Intermediate weightage. That band is competitive for good branches at reputed private colleges and for many branches at second-tier government colleges through TGEAPCET counselling.
What marks are needed for top government engineering colleges in Telangana?
For CSE and other in-demand branches at top colleges (JNTUH, OU, CBIT, VNR VJIET), a rank under about 3,000–5,000 is competitive — usually 120+ marks plus a strong Intermediate score. General-category toppers usually score 135+. Ranks up to 15,000 open good branches at many reputed colleges.
How does the TS EAMCET tie-breaker work?
If two candidates have the same normalised score, the tie is broken first by Mathematics marks, then Physics marks, and finally by age (older candidate ranked higher). This makes Mathematics the most important subject for rank optimisation in the Engineering stream.
How accurate is this TS EAMCET rank predictor?
It uses previous-year marks-vs-rank trends to estimate your rank from EAMCET marks, accurate to roughly ±20% for most score bands. Your official JNTUH rank will differ because of shift normalisation, the 25% Intermediate weightage, and each year's difficulty and candidate count. Use it to plan your web options, not as a guaranteed rank.
