Key Deadlines to Never Miss

  1. Opt into Session 2 at registration: You cannot add it later. If there is any chance you will want a second attempt, choose it now.
  2. Slot booking: Early slot booking gets you a preferred date and centre — desirable centres fill fast.
  3. Class 12 cut-offs: A high BITSAT score still needs 75% PCM and 60% per subject in Class 12. Do not neglect boards.

All dates are predicted based on BITS Pilani's recent patterns and are subject to change. Always verify on the official BITS Admission website. For strategy, see our BITSAT 2027 preparation guide. Last updated: June 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the BITSAT 2027 exam date?

BITS Pilani conducts BITSAT in two sessions. Based on recent years, Session 1 is expected in late May 2027 and Session 2 in June 2027. You can appear in one or both sessions; if you take both, your better score is considered. The exact dates are confirmed in the official brochure, usually released early in the year on bitsadmission.com.

Yes. You can register for both Session 1 and Session 2. If you appear in both, BITS considers your higher score for admission. Appearing in Session 2 is only allowed if you registered for it — you cannot decide after seeing your Session 1 result, so opt in during registration if you want the option.

You need a minimum of 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 (or PCB for B.Pharm), with at least 60% in each subject, and adequate proficiency in English. Only candidates passing Class 12 in 2026 or 2027 are typically eligible — BITSAT does not usually allow older batches.

BITSAT is a computer-based test of 130 questions in 3 hours, covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm), English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. Based on recent patterns, each correct answer earns 3 marks and each wrong answer carries a 1-mark penalty. There is also an optional bonus-question feature for those who attempt all questions early.

Registration typically opens in January-February 2027 and continues until April, with separate deadlines for Session 1 and Session 2. Slot booking (choosing your exam date, time, and centre) happens after registration. Apply early to get a preferred slot and centre.

After the exam, BITS releases admission rounds based on your BITSAT score and your Class 12 marks (which must meet the cut-offs). You fill your campus and programme preferences across BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses, and seats are allotted over multiple iterations. Higher scores unlock more campus and branch options.
