Session 1 dates come from NTA's tentative exam calendar; every other date is an estimate based on the 2026 cycle until NTA publishes the 2027 information bulletin.
How Many Days Are Left Until JEE Main 2027?
NTA's tentative exam calendar (16 September 2026) puts JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22–24 and 28–30 January 2027, with 31 January as a buffer day. Session 2 is not announced yet; in 2026 it ran from 2 to 8 April, so expect early April 2027. From late September 2026, that is roughly four months to Session 1 and about six months to Session 2.
But the number that actually matters is not the calendar countdown — it is your preparation days. Two students with the same exam date have wildly different outcomes depending on how they use the weeks in between. Count the weeks you have left, then work backwards from the exam: lock syllabus coverage first, leave the last 6–8 weeks for revision and full-length mocks, and protect a buffer for your board exams.

Get these ready before registration opens to avoid last-minute scrambles (based on the 2026 bulletin — check the 2027 one):
- Aadhaar or DigiLocker — for identity verification, with your Aadhaar photo, name and date of birth up to date
- Class 10 certificate or marksheet — scanned as a PDF
- Class 12 details — marks if passed, or appearing status
- Passport-size photograph — recent, in colour, white background, face clearly visible; you also capture a live photo during the form
- Signature scan — clear and legible
- Category / EWS details — if applicable (you enter the details; no certificate upload in 2026)
- Disability / UDID certificate — if applicable
- Valid email and mobile number — you will receive OTPs and updates here
- Debit card / net banking / UPI — for the fee (2026, one paper: ₹1,000 General male, ₹900 EWS/OBC-NCL male, ₹800 female, ₹500 SC/ST/PwD/third gender)
Key Reminders
- Set calendar reminders for registration opening day. Servers get overloaded on the last day — register early.
- Download your admit card immediately. Do not rely on last-minute downloads — server crashes are common.
- Print 2–3 copies of the admit card and keep them with your ID.
- Check the exam centre location in advance. Visit the centre a day before if possible, especially in unfamiliar cities.
- Keep original documents ready for JoSAA counselling. Missing documents during verification can cost you your seat.

When will JEE Main 2027 registration start?
NTA hasn't opened JEE Main 2027 registration yet. For the 2026 exam, Session 1 applications ran from 31 October to 27 November 2025 on jeemain.nta.nic.in, so expect the 2027 form in late October or November 2026, together with the information bulletin. Session 2 registration usually opens in late January or early February. Registration is online only — keep your Aadhaar details, a valid email and mobile number, and your Class 10 and Class 12 details ready.
How many times can I attempt JEE Main 2027?
JEE Main 2027 will have two sessions (January and April). You can take one or both; NTA counts your better score. You can appear for JEE Main in the year you pass Class 12 and the two years after it.
When will JEE Main 2027 admit card be released?
Admit cards come out 3–4 days before your exam date. With Session 1 tentatively starting 22 January 2027, expect them around 18–19 January; the city intimation slip usually comes in the first week of January. For Session 2 in April, expect the admit card 3–4 days before your exam date. Download and print it as soon as it is available.
When is JEE Advanced 2027 expected?
JEE Advanced 2027 is expected in mid-May 2027, on a Sunday — the 2026 exam was on Sunday 17 May, with results on 1 June. The organising IIT and the official dates haven't been announced yet. Registration opens after the JEE Main final result, and only the top 2,50,000 JEE Main (B.E./B.Tech) candidates across all categories can register.
When does JoSAA counselling 2027 start?
JoSAA usually starts the day after the JEE Advanced result. In 2026 registration opened on 2 June, Round 1 seats were allotted in mid-June and the fifth and final round was on 16 July; vacant NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats then went to CSAB special rounds. Expect a similar June–July window in 2027. Keep all original documents ready.
Can I appear for JEE Main 2027 if I passed Class 12 in 2025?
Yes. You can appear for JEE Main in the year you pass Class 12 and the two years after it, so if you passed in 2025 you were eligible in 2025 and 2026, and 2027 is your last eligible year. Students who passed Class 12 in 2026 or are appearing for Class 12 in 2027 are also eligible.
What documents are needed for JEE Main 2027 registration?
