Registration Checklist

Get these ready before registration opens to avoid last-minute scrambles:

  • Aadhaar card — linked to your mobile number
  • Class 10 marksheet — for date of birth proof
  • Class 12 marksheet or appearing certificate
  • Passport-size photograph — white background, recent, clear face
  • Signature scan — on white paper, blue/black ink
  • Category / EWS / PwD certificate — if applicable
  • Valid email and mobile number — you will receive OTPs and updates here
  • Debit card / Net banking / UPI — for fee payment (Rs 650-1300 depending on category)

Key Reminders

  1. Set calendar reminders for registration opening day. Servers get overloaded on the last day — register early.
  2. Download admit card immediately. Do not rely on last-minute downloads — server crashes are common.
  3. Print 2-3 copies of admit card. Carry all of them to the exam centre.
  4. Check exam centre location in advance. Visit the centre a day before if possible, especially in unfamiliar cities.
  5. Keep original documents ready for JoSAA counselling. Missing documents during verification means losing your seat.

All dates are predicted based on NTA's 2024-2026 patterns and are subject to change. Always verify on the official NTA website. For exam preparation, see our JEE 2027 preparation guide. Last updated: March 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will JEE Main 2027 registration start?

Based on previous year patterns, JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration is expected to open in November 2026 on the NTA website (nta.ac.in). Session 2 registration typically opens in February-March 2027. Registration is entirely online — you need Aadhaar, a valid email, phone number, and scanned photograph and signature.

JEE Main 2027 is expected to have 2 sessions (January and April). You can attempt one or both. If you appear in both, NTA considers your best score. There is no limit on total attempts across years — you can attempt JEE Main for 3 consecutive years after Class 12.

Admit cards are typically released 3-4 days before the exam date. For Session 1 (January 2027), expect the admit card around the last week of January. For Session 2 (April 2027), expect it in the first week of April. Download and print it as soon as it is available — do not wait until the last day.

JEE Advanced 2027 is expected in May 2027, approximately 4-6 weeks after JEE Main Session 2 results. Registration for JEE Advanced opens after JEE Main results — only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers (across all categories) are eligible to register.

JoSAA counselling typically begins in June 2027, after both JEE Main and JEE Advanced results are declared. It runs for 5-6 rounds over 6-8 weeks. Registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification all happen within this window. Keep all original documents ready.

Yes. You can appear for JEE Main for up to 3 consecutive years after passing Class 12. If you passed in 2025, you are eligible for JEE Main 2025, 2026, and 2027. Students appearing for Class 12 in 2027 are also eligible.

You need: Class 10 marksheet (for date of birth verification), Class 12 marksheet or appearing certificate, Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph (white background), signature scan, category/EWS/PwD certificate (if applicable), and a valid email and phone number. All documents must be scanned and uploaded during registration.

NTA conducts JEE Main in 200+ cities across India. During registration, you can choose up to 4 preferred city options. NTA allots your centre based on availability. Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities almost always have centres. For smaller cities, check NTA's city list during registration.
