Unlike most entrance exams, KCET rank is calculated as 50% KCET score + 50% II PUC board score. This has major implications for your strategy:

• Board preparation IS KCET preparation. Scoring well in PUC boards directly boosts your KCET rank.
• You cannot ignore boards. A student with 170/180 in KCET but 75% in PUC will lose rank to someone with 150/180 in KCET and 95% in PUC.

• I PUC focus: Trigonometric Functions, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sequences and Series.
• Speed is critical: 60 questions in 80 minutes means less than 80 seconds per question. Practice solving quickly — identify the method within 10 seconds, solve in 50 seconds, bubble in 10 seconds.

OMR Practice Tips

KCET is OMR-based (offline). This is unusual in 2027 when most exams are online. Here is how to avoid OMR-specific mistakes:

1. Practice with OMR sheets. Download sample OMR sheets and practice filling them during mock tests.
2. Fill bubbles completely. Half-filled bubbles may not be read by the scanner. Use a dark pencil or pen as specified.
3. Check question numbers regularly. The most common OMR mistake is misaligning question numbers — answering Q15 in the Q16 row shifts everything.
4. Do not erase aggressively. Rough erasure marks can confuse the OMR scanner. If you need to change an answer, erase cleanly.
