One computer-based paper: Mathematics 75, Physics 45 and Chemistry 30 questions — 150 questions in 180 minutes, +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one, 600 marks in all. Each question has five options. The prospectus says questions are not based exclusively on NCERT or any other textbook, so expect applied, higher-order questions. When is the KEAM 2027 exam date?
KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. The engineering entrance is a computer-based test held in sessions over several days in April — in 2026 it ran from 17 to 23 April, 2:00–5:00 PM each day. KEAM 2027 is expected in April 2027; CEE hasn't announced the dates yet, so confirm them in the KEAM 2027 prospectus on cee.kerala.gov.in.
What does KEAM 2027 cover?
KEAM is Kerala's common admission process for professional degree courses, but only engineering is decided by the KEAM engineering exam itself — a single computer-based paper in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. In 2026 B.Pharm used CEE's separate Kerala Pharmacy Entrance Examination (Chemistry and Physics, 90 minutes). Architecture admission uses your NATA score together with your Class 12 marks, and medical, agriculture, veterinary and allied courses use NEET — you still apply for them through KEAM.
When will KEAM 2027 registration open?
Registration typically opens in early January and runs about four weeks (KEAM 2026: 5 January to 6 February 2026, after an extension), on cee.kerala.gov.in. You also upload supporting documents for eligibility, nativity, category and reservation claims. Kerala has detailed nativity and reservation rules, so read the prospectus carefully and keep the required certificates ready.
How is the KEAM 2027 engineering rank calculated?
In 2026 the engineering rank gave equal (50:50) weightage to your normalised KEAM entrance score and your Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (taken in the ratio 5:3:2, after normalisation), giving an index mark out of 600. So your board performance is half the rank — strong entrance marks alone are not enough.
How does KEAM 2027 allotment work?
After the rank list, CEE runs the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). You register options — colleges and courses in your order of preference — and seats are allotted over several phases based on rank, category and reservation. In 2026 the engineering rank list came out on 27 June, a trial allotment on 6 July and the first allotment on 8 July. You can rearrange or delete options between phases within the allowed window.
Is there negative marking in KEAM 2027?
Yes. In KEAM 2026 each correct answer earned 4 marks and each wrong answer lost 1; an unanswered question cost nothing. Each question had five options with one most appropriate answer, so skip questions where you are only guessing. Confirm the 2027 scheme in the prospectus.
