Key Deadlines to Never Miss

  1. Registration deadline: The most critical date. Missing it means losing an entire year. Register in the first week — do not wait for the last day when servers crash.
  2. Correction window: Your only chance to fix application errors (photo, category, exam centre preference). After this window closes, no changes are possible.
  3. Admit card download: Download the day it releases. Print 2-3 copies. Server overload on the last day is a real problem.
  4. Counselling registration: Register for both AIQ (MCC) and state counselling immediately after results. The windows are short — often just 5-7 days.
  5. College reporting: After seat allotment, you must report to the allotted college within the given window (usually 3-5 days) with original documents and fees. Missing this deadline means forfeiting your seat.

All dates are predicted based on NTA's 2024-2026 patterns and are subject to change. Always verify on the official NTA website and MCC portal. For preparation strategy, see our NEET 2027 preparation guide. Last updated: March 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will NEET 2027 registration start?

Based on NTA's pattern from recent years, NEET 2027 registration is expected to open in February 2027 on nta.ac.in. The registration window typically stays open for 4-5 weeks. Registration is entirely online and requires Aadhaar, Class 10/12 documents, photograph, and signature.

NEET 2027 is expected to be conducted in the first or second week of May 2027. NTA has conducted NEET in May for the last several years (except COVID-disrupted years). The exact date will be announced in the official notification, usually in January-February 2027.

NEET results are typically declared 4-6 weeks after the exam. If NEET 2027 is held in May, results are expected in June 2027. NTA first releases a provisional answer key (with an objection window), then the final answer key, and then the result with scorecard.

AIQ (All India Quota) counselling through MCC typically starts in July 2027, about 2-4 weeks after NEET results. State quota counselling starts slightly later and varies by state. The entire counselling process (all rounds) usually extends until September-October 2027.

As of 2026, NEET is conducted once a year, unlike JEE Main which has two sessions. There have been discussions about conducting NEET twice a year, but NTA has not confirmed this for 2027 yet. Plan for a single attempt and prepare accordingly.

AIQ (All India Quota) counselling fills 15% of government medical college seats through a centralized process managed by MCC. State quota counselling fills the remaining 85% of government seats + all private college seats, managed by individual state counselling committees. You can participate in both simultaneously.

NTA usually provides a late registration window (3-5 days) with an additional late fee. After the late window closes, no further registrations are accepted. There are no exceptions. Set a calendar reminder for the registration start date and complete it in the first week.

After results: (1) Download your scorecard. (2) Register for AIQ counselling on MCC website. (3) Register for your state's counselling portal. (4) Fill choice preferences (colleges + branches). (5) Wait for seat allotment. (6) Report to allotted college with original documents. (7) Pay fees and confirm admission. Missing any step means losing your seat.
