NEET Syllabus 2026 — Complete Unit List (Use It for NEET 2027)

The NEET-UG 2026 syllabus was notified by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and published in NTA's 2026 information bulletin. It has 50 units — 20 in Physics, 20 in Chemistry and 10 in Biology — and closely follows NCERT Class 11 and 12. The bulletin says it was unchanged from 2025. No NEET-UG 2027 syllabus has been published yet, so this is the syllabus to prepare from for NEET 2027 until NMC/NTA release a new one.

Biology Syllabus (10 units)

• Class 11 topics — Diversity in Living World; Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants; Cell Structure and Function (incl. biomolecules and cell division); Plant Physiology (photosynthesis, respiration, plant growth and development); Human Physiology (breathing, body fluids and circulation, excretion, locomotion, neural control, chemical coordination)
• Class 12 topics — Reproduction; Genetics and Evolution; Biology and Human Welfare; Biotechnology and Its Applications; Ecology and Environment (organisms and populations, ecosystem, biodiversity and conservation)

Chemistry Syllabus (20 units)

• Physical — Some Basic Concepts, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics
• Inorganic — Classification of Elements and Periodicity, p-Block Elements (Groups 13–18, general trends), d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds
• Organic — Purification and Characterisation of Organic Compounds, Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Compounds Containing Halogens, Oxygen and Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Principles Related to Practical Chemistry

Physics Syllabus (20 units)

• Class 11 topics — Physics and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Solids and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Oscillations and Waves
• Class 12 topics — Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices (diodes and logic gates)
• Experimental Skills — 18 listed experiments, such as vernier callipers, screw gauge, metre bridge and the resonance tube

What the Syllabus Leaves Out

These chapters or topics appear in older syllabi or some textbooks but are not in the NEET-UG 2026 syllabus: Digestion and Absorption, Transport in Plants, Mineral Nutrition, Reproduction in Organisms and Environmental Issues (Biology); States of Matter, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements, Surface Chemistry, Polymers and Chemistry in Everyday Life (Chemistry); and transistors (Physics).
