  • उत्तर से दक्षिण और पूरब से पश्चिम तक किसानों की समस्याएँ एक-सी थीं।
  • उनकी तकलीफ़ें थीं: गरीबी, कर्ज, पूँजीपतियों का शिकंजा, जमींदार, महाजन, कड़े लगान, सूद और पुलिस के जुल्म।
  • इन सबके साथ विदेशी सरकार का बोझ भी जुड़ा हुआ था।
