Dates, syllabus and exam pattern for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2027, conducted by WBJEEB.

Quick check: can you appear for WBJEE 2027?

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics plus one listed subject: 45% in the three together (40% reserved) and 30% in English. Some universities, Calcutta and Jadavpur among them, need Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Minimum age 17 by 31 December of the exam year. WB domicile (10 years' continuous residence, or a parent who is a permanent WB resident) is needed for government-aided seats, reserved seats and 90% of Jadavpur's general seats.

  • Both papers are on the same day: in 2026 Paper 1 (Mathematics) ran 11:00 am–1:00 pm and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) 2:00–4:00 pm. Each paper carries 100 marks, so Mathematics alone is half the total.
  • Sitting only Paper 2 gets you a Pharmacy rank, not a General Merit Rank. Ties are broken first in favour of fewer negative marks.

Deadlines and tips

  • Registration is online only, on wbjeeb.nic.in. In 2026 it ran from 10 March to 8 April and the fee was ₹500 for General male candidates; pay well before the last day.
  • In 2026 a correction window followed registration, but your name, parents' names, domicile and date of birth couldn't be changed once the form was submitted, so check those before you submit.

    Map the syllabus

    Print the full syllabus and rate yourself 1–5 on every chapter before you start.

    Build a 6-month plan

    Front-load Class 11 chapters in months 1–3 and Class 12 in months 4–6. Reserve the last month for revision.

It isn't a national exam, so check how each college outside the state admits students. IIEST Shibpur admits B.Tech students through JEE Main and JoSAA, not WBJEE.
