Trees (Emily Dickinson) — Important Questions

Far Psalteries of Summer –

The poem compares summer sounds to 'Far Psalteries of Summer,' using a musical metaphor.

They remain elusive and never fully satisfy the ear

The line suggests that the music of summer is beautiful but cannot be completely captured or fully satisfied by listening.

The Sun is shown as appearing fully only at certain times, not continuously.

Then Half – then utter hid –

The poem presents the Sun as changing from full visibility to partial visibility and then complete concealment.
