  • उनका जीवनकाल 1556 से 1626 है।
  • वे अकबर के दरबार के नवरत्नों में एक थे।

४. रहीम के दोहों का भावार्थ

  • ‘कहि रहीम संपति सगे, बनत बहुत बहु रीता। बिपति कसौटी जे कसे, तेई साँचे मीता॥’ का अर्थ है कि संपत्ति के समय अनेक लोग साथ दिखते हैं, पर सच्चा मित्र वही है जो विपत्ति की कसौटी पर खरा उतरे।
  • ‘रहिमन पानी राखिए, बिन पानी सब सून। पानी गए न ऊबरे, मोती मानुष चून॥’ में ‘पानी’ से चमक, स्वाभिमान और आर्द्रता का भाव प्रकट होता है।
  • मोती, मनुष्य और चूना बिना पानी के अपना महत्व खो देते हैं।
