NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) provides Rs 12,000/year to meritorious students from economically weaker sections. 1 lakh scholarships are awarded annually.
Eligibility
- Class — studying in Class 8 at government/aided/local body school
- Marks — 55% in Class 7 (50% for SC/ST)
- Family income — below Rs 3,50,000/year
- Not for — students in private unaided schools, KVs, JNVs
Exam Pattern
- Paper 1: MAT — 90 questions, 90 minutes. Reasoning and mental ability.
- Paper 2: SAT — 90 questions, 90 minutes. Science, Maths, Social Science from Class 7–8.
- Qualifying marks — 40% in each paper (32% for SC/ST)
