QDiscuss-1.What transport do you take to travel within your city/town/village?

This is a discussion-based question. Sample Answer: To travel within my city/town/village, I use different modes of transport depending on the distance. For short distances, I walk or ride a bicycle. For longer distances within the city, my family uses a bus, auto-rickshaw, or car. In some villages, people also use bullock carts or cycle-rickshaws.

QWrite-1.Describe briefly any trip that you have taken with your friends, neighbours or family.

This is a personal writing activity. Sample Answer: Last summer, I went to my grandmother's village with my family. We travelled by train. The journey was very exciting. I saw green fields, rivers, and hills from the window. At the village, we played in the open fields, ate fresh fruits from the garden, and listened to stories told by my grandmother at night. It was one of the best trips I have ever taken.

Q1.Match the Column A signboards with their meanings in Column B.

Note: The actual signboard images are not visible in the OCR text, so a general guide is provided below based on common road signboards taught at Class 3 level.

Common matches (illustrative):

  • Stop sign → You must stop here.
  • School Ahead sign → A school is nearby; drive slowly.
  • No Entry sign → You cannot enter from this side.
  • Pedestrian Crossing sign → People cross the road here.
  • Speed Limit sign → You must not drive faster than the number shown.

Students should look at the actual signboard pictures in their textbook and draw a line from each picture in Column A to its correct meaning in Column B.

Q2.You would have observed many signboards on the road. Draw and label any three road signboards that are not listed above.

Students are expected to draw and label three road signboards from their own observation. Below are three good examples:

  1. Railway Crossing Sign – A sign showing a train engine. It means: A railway track crosses the road ahead; slow down and look both ways.
  1. Hospital / First Aid Sign – A sign with a red cross or 'H'. It means: A hospital is nearby.
  1. One Way Sign – An arrow pointing in one direction. It means: Traffic can move only in the direction shown by the arrow.

Students should draw neat pictures of these signs, colour them correctly, and write the label (name) below each drawing.
