2) Perimeter Formulas

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 × (length + breadth)

Perimeter of a square = 4 × length of a side

Perimeter of a triangle = sum of the lengths of its three sides

Perimeter of an equilateral triangle = 3 × length of a side

3) Area Formulas and Counting

Area of a rectangle = length × width

Area of a square = length × length

Rectangle perimeter = 2 × (length + breadth).

Rectangle area = length × width.

Key relations

For rectangle ABCD with length 12 cm and breadth 8 cm, the perimeter is 2 × (12 cm + 8 cm) = 40 cm.

For a square photo frame of side 1 m, the perimeter is 4 × 1 m = 4 m.
