  • Personal data includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, financial information, health records, biometric data, browsing history, social media posts, and location data.
  • Smartphones collect a large amount of data because they contain many sensors and apps.

  • Tay was a Microsoft chatbot released on March 23, 2016 through Twitter and shut down after 16 hours because it posted inflammatory and offensive tweets.
  • Tay is an example of AI gone wrong.
  • Sidewalk Labs, a subsidiary of Google, faced backlash over a smart city project in Toronto because of lack of clear ethical standards for data handling.
