Q: What is the smallest 4-digit number?

A: The smallest 4-digit number is 1000. Why? Because the largest 3-digit number is 999. When we add 1 to it: 999 + 1 = 1000 So, 1000 is the first number with 4 digits.

Q: What is the greatest 4-digit number?

A: The greatest 4-digit number is 9999. Why? Because if we add 1 to 9999: 9999 + 1 = 10000 This gives a 5-digit number. So, 9999 is the largest number with only 4 digits.

Q: Write the number shown on the abacus: 3 in thousands, 6 in hundreds, 2 in tens, 4 in ones.

A: Step 1: Thousands = 3 × 1000 = 3000 Step 2: Hundreds = 6 × 100 = 600 Step 3: Tens = 2 × 10 = 20 Step 4: Ones = 4 × 1 = 4 Now add them: 3000 + 600 + 20 + 4 = 3624 Answer: 3624
