Key Topics to Revise
Understanding the Simple Past Tense
- We use the simple past tense to describe actions that were completed in the past.
- Regular verbs end in -ed (e.g., played, walked), while irregular verbs have special past forms (e.g., went, bought).
- The simple past tense does not change with the subject (I, you, he, she, etc.).
Using the Simple Past in Sentences
- Positive sentences use the past form of the verb directly.
- Negative sentences use 'did not' (didn't) + base verb.
- Questions start with 'Did' followed by the subject and base verb.
