- A negative sentence says that something is not true or not happening.
- We use words like 'not', 'no', 'don't', 'cannot', etc., to make a sentence negative.
- Example: 'I am happy.' → 'I am not happy.'
Rules for Making Negative Sentences
- If the verb is 'am', 'is', 'are', 'was', 'were' → add 'not' after the verb.
- If the verb is 'have', 'has', 'had' → use 'no' after the verb.
- If the sentence has helping verbs like 'can', 'will', 'has got' → put 'not' after the first helping verb.
