  • Global warming is a gradual increase in the average temperature of the earth's lower atmosphere because of greenhouse gases.
  • It is linked to fossil fuels and deforestation.
  • Carbon dioxide concentration increased by 31 per cent and methane by 149 per cent above pre-industrial levels since 1750.
