3. Measures of Central Tendency

Given $n$ values $x_1, x_2, x_3, \dots, x_n$, mean is computed as $\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_i$.

When all the values are sorted in ascending or descending order, the middle value is called the Median.

Value that appears most number of times in the given data of an attribute/variable is called Mode.

4. Measures of Variability/Dispersion

Range: M - S (Maximum – Minimum)

Standard Deviation: $$\Sigma = \sqrt{\frac{\sum_{i=1}^n (x_i - \bar{x})^2}{n}}$$
