2A school having 500 students wants to identify beneficiaries of the merit-cum means scholarship, achieving more than 75% for two consecutive years and having family income less than 5 lakh per annum.

Briefly describe data processing steps to be taken by the to beneficial prepare the list of school.

To prepare the scholarship list, the school should follow these data processing steps:

1. Collect data for all 500 students:
- marks / percentage of the last two years
- family income
2. Store the data in a suitable digital form, such as a spreadsheet or database.
3. Process the data by applying the required conditions:
- student must have more than 75% in two consecutive years
- family income must be less than 5 lakh per annum
4. Filter / select only those students who satisfy both conditions.
5. Prepare the final list of beneficiaries and verify it before announcing.

Thus, the school can use the processed data to identify eligible scholarship students.

3A bank 'xyz' wants to know about its popularity among the residents of a city 'ABC' on the basis of number of bank accounts each family has and the average monthly account balance of each person. Briefly describe the steps to be taken for collecting data and what results can be checked through processing of the collected data.Show solution
The bank should first collect data from the residents of city ABC, such as:

- number of bank accounts each family has
- average monthly account balance of each person
- family details / resident details

The data can be collected through forms, surveys, or existing bank records, and then stored in a digital file or database.

After that, the bank should process and analyse the data to check:

- how many families already have accounts in the bank
- how many accounts each family has on average
- the average monthly balance maintained by customers
- whether the bank is popular among residents based on the number of accounts and balances

From the processed data, the bank can judge its popularity in city ABC and understand customer usage and account balance patterns.
