1. Sharing Equally

  • Shabnam and Mukta share chocolate and a paratha equally.
  • Equal sharing means both parts are the same size.
  • A folded paratha helps check whether the two parts are equal.

  • 3 is half of 6.
  • 6 is double of 3.
  • Half means one of two equal parts.

3. Fair or Unfair Sharing

  • Amit and Bala's father gave them a mango tree, a solar lamp and a woollen blanket to share.
  • Amit proposed keeping the fruits while Bala keeps the tree.
  • Amit proposed keeping the lamp at night while Bala keeps it during the day.

4. Quarters

  • Dividing a whole into four equal parts leads to pieces of quarter size.
  • A quarter is one of four equal parts.
  • Students may also say one fourth or half of half.
