1. Capacity: How Much a Vessel Can Hold

  • Capacity means how much liquid a vessel can hold.
  • A bigger vessel can hold more liquid than a smaller one.
  • Different vessels can hold different amounts, but the total quantity stays the same when liquid is poured from one vessel to another.

2. Comparing Who Drank More Milk

  • Ritu's mother gives milk in different glasses.
  • Nita, Monu, and Ritu have different amounts in their glasses.
  • Ritu's elder sister finds out who drank the most by pouring the contents into three same-sized glasses.

3. Litre, Half Litre, and Quarter Litre

  • A jug can hold exactly 1 litre.
  • A mug may hold half a litre.
  • A glass may hold quarter litre.

4. Heavy and Light

  • Heavier things tend to go down due to their weight when held or balanced.
  • Chintu holds 3 textbooks in one hand and a pencil box in the other for 30 seconds, and the heavier side goes lower.
  • A pan-balance can be used to compare weight.
