A half is when an object is divided into 2 equal parts. Each part is one half. We write half as 1/2.

Answer
A quarter is when an object is divided into 4 equal parts. Each part is one quarter. We write quarter as 1/4.
If we divide a dhokla equally among 6 people, what fraction will each person get?
Answer
Each person will get 1/6 (one-sixth) of the dhokla because the whole is divided into 6 equal parts.
Which is bigger: 1/3 or 1/5? Why?
Answer
1/3 is bigger than 1/5. When we divide something into fewer parts (3 parts), each part is bigger than when we divide it into more parts (5 parts).
What happens to the size of each part when we share among more people?
Answer
When we share among more people, each part becomes smaller. The more people we share with, the smaller each person's share becomes.
How many quarters (1/4) make one whole?
Answer
Four quarters (1/4) make one whole. 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 4/4 = 1 whole.
If a garden is divided into 5 equal parts and roses are planted in 2 parts, what fraction represents the rose area?
Answer
The rose area represents 2/5 (two-fifths) of the garden because 2 out of 5 equal parts have roses.
What fraction is represented if we shade 3 out of 8 equal parts?
Answer
If we shade 3 out of 8 equal parts, it represents 3/8 (three-eighths).
