1. Parts and Wholes

  • A whole object can be split into equal parts.
  • When a shape is divided into 2 equal parts, each part is called a half.
  • When a shape is divided into 4 equal parts, each part is called a quarter.

  • When more people share the same whole, each share becomes smaller.
  • Sumedha notices that sharing dhokla among a larger number of people gives smaller pieces.
  • Sharing among 9 people gives a bigger share than sharing among 11 people.
