Answer

Step 1: Keep the compass tip fixed at P. Step 2: Keep the opening of the compass at 4 cm. Step 3: Rotate the pencil point around P. Answer: A circle is traced.

Card 2

Answer

Card 3Circles with compass

Why do all points on a circle stay the same distance from the centre?

Answer

The compass opening does not change while drawing. So every point on the curve stays 4 cm from the centre P. That fixed distance is called the radius.

Card 4

Answer

Card 5Circles with compass

What is the centre and radius in a circle drawn with point P and distance 4 cm?

Answer

Centre: P Radius: 4 cm A radius is the distance from the centre to any point on the circle.

Card 6

Answer

Card 7Rectangles

A rectangle has sides AB, BC, CD, and DA. Which sides are opposite sides?

Answer

Opposite sides lie across from each other. So AB and CD are opposite sides. Also, AD and BC are opposite sides.

Card 8
