Fleshy stems that store water

Desert plants need to save water and survive very hot conditions. The chapter says that fleshy stems of desert plants store water, which helps them tolerate the heat. Conical shape and sloping branches are features of deodar trees in mountains, long legs with wide hooves are camel adaptations, and soft green stems are features of herbs.

Fibrous root

Grasses have fibrous roots - a bunch of similar-sized thin roots. They also have parallel venation in leaves.

Amphibians

Amphibians can live both on land and in water. Frogs are perfect examples as they live in water as tadpoles and on land as adults.
