  • विद्याहीना रूपयौवनसम्पन्नाः विशालकुलसम्भवाः अपि न शोभन्ते; निर्गन्धाः किंशुकाः इव तेषां शोभा न भवति।
  • रूपं, यौवनं, उच्चकुलसम्भवः च विद्यायाः अपेक्षया न्यूनाः सन्ति।
  • विद्या विवादाय न, किन्तु ज्ञानाय भवति; खलस्य साधोः च उपयोगः विपरीतः अस्ति।

सदाचरणम् असदाचरणं च

  • धीमतां कालः काव्यशास्त्रविनोदेन गच्छति।
  • मूर्खाणां कालः व्यसनेन, निद्रया, कलहेन वा गच्छति।
  • दुष्टः विद्यां कलहार्थं, धनं गर्वार्थं, शक्तिं परपीडनार्थं उपयुञ्जते।
