The Indus Valley towns had remarkable features including systematic drainage, roads crossing at right angles, houses on high plinth for flood protection, and public baths. They did not have circular layouts.

Dockyard

Lothal had a huge dockyard constructed to facilitate ships during high tides. This made it an important port for trade and commerce in ancient India, showing evidence of exports and imports.

Brahmi

Ashoka's pillar inscriptions were carved in Brahmi script. These stone inscriptions were polished so well that they gleamed and were erected at various important places across the empire.

Solanki

The Sun Temple of Modhera in Gujarat was built in 1026 A.D. during the reign of Solanki King Bhimdev-I. It features unique architecture where the first ray of sun falls directly on the gem in the crown.
