What is a Constitution?
- A Constitution is a systematic compilation of rules to run the government of a country.

Formation of the Indian Constitution
- The Constituent Assembly was established and started working from 9th December 1946.
- Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as the President of the Constituent Assembly.
- The Drafting Committee was headed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar – he is called the Father of the Indian Constitution.
Salient Features of the Indian Constitution
- DEMOCRATIC RULE: India has a democratic system. Elections are held every 5 years. Citizens above 18 years can vote.
