Glasnost, Perestroika

Mikhail Gorbachev adopted two main liberal policies: 'Glasnost' (openness) and 'Perestroika' (restructuring). These policies introduced economic and political reforms that eventually led to the peaceful disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991.

The Non-Aligned Movement was founded by five main leaders: India's Jawaharlal Nehru, Indonesia's Sukarno, Egypt's Gamal Abdel Nasser, Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah, and Yugoslavia's Josip Broz Tito. They met in Belgrade in 1961 to establish NAM.

Treaty of 1950

The relationship between India and Nepal started with the signing of a treaty in 1950. According to this treaty, both countries are considered sovereign and aimed to preserve regional unity as well as facilitate movement of citizens between both countries.

The UN Charter mentions four main goals: establishing international peace and security, developing friendly relations between states, solving economic, social and cultural problems, and acting as a central body for bringing harmony between different nations.
