What is Division?
- Division means sharing equally or grouping things.
- It is the opposite of multiplication.
- We use the symbol '÷' for division.
Properties of Division
- Any number divided by itself gives 1.
- Any number divided by 1 gives the number itself.
- 0 divided by any number gives 0.
Division as Repeated Subtraction
- We can divide by subtracting the same number again and again.
- Count how many times you subtract to get the quotient.
- Stop when you reach 0 or a number smaller than the divisor.
