Understanding the Clock
- A clock has two hands: the short hand (hour hand) and the long hand (minute hand).
- The minute hand moves faster than the hour hand.
- There are 60 minutes in 1 hour.
a.m. and p.m.
- a.m. means time from midnight to just before noon.
- p.m. means time from noon to just before midnight.
- 12:00 noon is written as 12:00 p.m.
Days and Months
- There are 7 days in a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Saturday and Sunday are weekend days.
- Monday to Friday are weekdays.
Time Calculations
- We can add or subtract time to find when something starts or ends.
