- There are three main types of maps: Physical, Political, and Thematic.
- Physical maps show natural features like mountains, rivers, and plains.

Elements of a Map
- All maps have five important elements: Title, Scale, Direction (North Line), Symbols, and Key/Legend.
- The scale tells how much the real distance is reduced on the map.
- The north line (with 'N') shows the direction of North.

- The four main directions are North, South, East, and West — called cardinal directions.
