What is a Sentence?

- It must begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark: . or ? or !
- Every sentence has a subject and a predicate (though not always clearly visible in simple sentences).

Phrase vs Sentence
- A phrase is a group of words that makes some sense but not a complete thought.
- A phrase does not contain a subject and verb combination that forms a complete idea.
- Examples of phrases: 'in the park', 'with great care', 'must have gone'.

Types of Sentences
- There are four main types of sentences based on their purpose.
- Assertive (Declarative): States a fact or opinion.
- Interrogative: Asks a question.

Transformation of Sentences
- Exclamatory sentences starting with 'What' or 'How' can be changed into assertive sentences.
- To transform: Restore normal word order, add words like 'very' or 'extremely', and change '!' to '.'
- Example: 'What a beautiful flower!' → 'It is a very beautiful flower.'
