What is an Adverb?
- An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
- It adds more meaning to the word it describes.

- There are five main types of adverbs: Manner, Place, Time, Frequency, and Degree.
- Each type answers a different question in the sentence.

- Most adverbs of manner are formed by adding -ly to adjectives.
- If the adjective ends in -e, drop -e and add -ly (e.g., gentle → gently).

- Adverbs of manner, place, and time usually come after the verb or object.
- Adverbs of frequency (always, never, often) go before the main verb.
- If the verb is 'to be', the adverb comes after the verb.
