  • The word that comes after the preposition is its object.
  • The object is always a noun or a pronoun.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Any preposition can be used with any noun or verb as long as it sounds right.

Prepositions always come before nouns or pronouns, so they can never be at the end of a sentence.

In, on, and at can be used interchangeably for time expressions.
