Reactants are substances that take part in a reaction and are written on the left side of the equation. Products (ZnSO₄ and Cu) are formed and written on the right side.

Solid (s), Liquid (l), Gas (g), Aqueous (aq)

The four common physical states indicated in chemical equations are solid (s), liquid (l), gas (g), and aqueous solution (aq). Plasma state is not commonly used in basic chemistry equations.

Double displacement reaction

This is a double displacement reaction because ions exchange between reactants - Ag⁺ from AgNO₃ combines with Cl⁻ from NaCl, while Na⁺ from NaCl combines with NO₃⁻ from AgNO₃.

Temperature, Particle size, Concentration, Catalyst

Temperature, particle size, concentration of reactants, and presence of catalyst all affect reaction rates. Higher temperature and concentration, smaller particle size, and catalysts generally increase reaction rates.
