Card 1

Answer

Card 2Introduction to fluids

State the basic property that distinguishes fluids from solids.

Answer

A fluid can flow. Liquids and gases are called fluids because they do not have a fixed shape of their own and take the shape of the container.

Card 3Properties of fluids

Why do gases fill the entire container while liquids do not?

Answer

Gases are highly compressible and expand to occupy all available space. Liquids are largely incompressible, so they keep a nearly fixed volume and form a free surface.

Card 4

Answer

Card 5

Answer

Card 6Pressure

State the formula for average pressure and explain the symbols.

Answer

Formula: P_av = F/A Here F is the normal force and A is the area. Unit: N m^-2 or Pa. Meaning: pressure increases when the same force acts on a smaller area.

Card 7Numerical on pressure

A force of 400 N acts normally on an area of 20 cm². Find the average pressure.

Answer

Given: F = 400 N, A = 20 cm² = 20 x 10^-4 m² = 2.0 x 10^-3 m² Formula: P_av = F/A Step 1: P_av = 400 N / (2.0 x 10^-3 m²) Step 2: P_av = 2.0 x 10^5 N m^-2 Answer: 2.0 x 10^5 Pa

Card 8

Answer

दिया है: F = 400 N, A = 20 cm² = 20 x 10^-4 m² = 2.0 x 10^-3 m² सूत्र: P_av = F/A चरण 1: P_av = 400 N / (2.0 x 10^-3 m²) चरण 2: P_av = 2.0 x 10^5 N m^-2 उत्तर: 2.0 x 10^5 Pa
