What to Focus On
- The number of equal points marked on the auxiliary ray equals the sum of the ratio parts.
- For ratio 2:3, 5 equal points are marked.
- A parallel line through the appropriate point gives the required division point.
- SSS uses three sides.
- SAS uses two sides and the included angle.
- ASA uses two angles and the included side.
- Scale factor is new triangle side to given triangle side.
- For scale factor 3/5, 5 equal points are marked and the third point is used.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
In the right triangle construction, the right angle can be placed at any vertex.
In the perimeter and base-angles construction, the full base angles are drawn at the ends of the base.
A midpoint in construction 9 can be taken by eye, without drawing the right bisector.
