- Business environment is broadly classified as: (a) Economic Environment, (b) Non-Economic Environment.
- Economic Environment has THREE components: Economic Conditions, Economic Policies, Economic System.
- Economic Conditions: GDP, per capita income, capital markets, foreign exchange reserves, growth of foreign trade.

Types of Business Environment — Non-Economic Environment
- Non-Economic Environment has SIX components: Social, Political, Legal, Technological, Demographic, Natural.
- Social Environment: Customs, traditions, values, beliefs, literacy, life expectancy. Example: Demand for clothes increases during festivals.
- Political Environment: Political system, government policies, trade unions. Example: Coca-Cola had to wind up operations in India in the late 1970s.
