Step 1: According to Section 5.2, the five Panchamahabhuta elements are Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether (Akash). Step 2: Earth, Water, and Ether (Akash) are all part of this list, so they are incorrect answers for this question. Step 3: Sound is NOT listed as one of the five fundamental elements in Vedic cosmology. Step 4: Therefore, 'Sound' is the correct answer here, as it does not belong to the Panchamahabhuta.

Divine mothers

Step 3: The translated verse from Rig Veda 10.97.4 also addresses plants as 'Mothers' and 'Goddesses'. Step 4: The seers of the Rigveda also say, 'Plant! Thus I hail thee, the Divine Mother of mankind.' Step 5: Therefore, 'Divine mothers' is the correct answer. Other options like divine fathers, sacred rivers, or celestial guardians are not used to describe plants in this context.

Nadistuti Sukta

Step 1: Section 5.2 of the chapter discusses the importance of rivers in Vedic texts. Step 2: The text specifically mentions: 'The Rig Veda dedicates an entire hymn to the rivers. Step 4: The Prithvi Sukta is a hymn to Mother Earth found in the Atharva Veda. The Shantipath is the peace prayer from the Yajur Veda. 'Agni Sukta' is not a hymn mentioned in the chapter. Therefore, 'Nadistuti Sukta' is correct.
