ISC (ICSE) Class 12 Physics Important Questions
ISC Class 12 Physics important questions for the 2027 board exams: chapter-wise question pages, how to practise them and where to find official papers.
Important questions for ISC (ICSE) Class 12 Physics are the ones that test each chapter's core ideas the way board papers ask them. The questions themselves are on our chapter pages, linked below; this page is the plan for using them before the 2027 board exams.

Official Papers and Syllabus
The most useful practice is CISCE's own papers. CISCE publishes specimen question papers and the ISC syllabus on cisce.org; solve them, and past ISC papers, under timed conditions once you finish a chapter.
How to Use Chapter-Wise Questions
- Start with the chapters you find hardest — they need the most practice rounds.
- Solve without looking at answers first — then check, and note why you went wrong.
- Time yourself — practise at exam speed, not homework speed.
- Mark questions you got wrong — redo them 2–3 days before the exam.

Start freeHow to Prepare ISC Class 12 Physics
- Practise every derivation your syllabus lists; derivations carry long answers.
- Solve numericals chapter by chapter, writing the formula, substitution and units each time.
- Draw ray diagrams and circuit diagrams neatly with a ruler.
- Learn definitions, laws and SI units exactly.
Exam-Day Tips
- Read every question twice — misreading what is asked is the easiest way to lose marks.
- Attempt every question — board papers don't deduct marks for wrong answers.
- Show every step — examiners give marks for steps even when the final answer is wrong.
- Draw neat, labelled diagrams — wherever a question calls for one.
- Keep the last 10–15 minutes to check — look for unanswered parts and silly mistakes.
Turn this into exam marks
Super Tutor gives you chapter summaries, revision notes, practice quizzes and an AI doubt solver matched to your board syllabus — so you revise smarter, not longer.

Which chapters carry the most marks in ISC Class 12 Physics?
In the ISC Physics theory paper (70 marks), Optics carries the most (18 marks), followed by Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, and Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents (16 marks). The full unit-wise split is on our ISC Physics weightage page, taken from CISCE's syllabus for the 2027 exam. Questions can come from every unit, so don't skip any.
Which textbook should I use for ISC Class 12 Physics?
CISCE sets the ISC syllabus for Physics but does not tie it to one textbook. Use the book your school follows, and check its chapters against the ISC syllabus on cisce.org.
How many days do I need to revise ISC Class 12 Physics?
If you have already finished the syllabus once, 30–45 days of steady revision (2–3 hours of Physics a day) is enough for most students. Keep the last week for past papers and your own notes.
Will these exact questions come in the ISC exam?
No one can predict the exact paper. Important questions cover the ideas that are asked most often, so practise every chapter and solve the board's past papers as well.
