  • A formal letter has a clear structure and a fixed arrangement.
  • Companies often use printed letterheads bearing the company name, and sometimes the sender's name and designation.
  • The main parts are: sender's name and address, addressee's name and address, date, salutation, subject line, content, complimentary close, and signature.
